Harry Potter

The four houses in Harry Potter are Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.

The three main characters are in Gryffindor house along with the Headmaster and deputy Headmaster. The traits of a Gryffindor are courage, daring, nerve, chivalry and bravery. The traits of a Hufflepuff are hard working, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play. Hufflepuffs also are the most accepting of all the houses. In the books and movies Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors get along the best of all the houses.

The traits Ravenclaws value are learning, wisdom, wit, and intellect so therefore Ravenclaws tend to be more academically motivated and hold higher up jobs at the Ministry of Magic. The traits that Slytherins value are ambitious, shrewd, cunning, strong leaders, and achievement-oriented. Also they put self-preservation above everything else, for example 99% of the Slytherins fled during the first battle of Hogwarts.
